Tantus Ripple Large: Review

The Tantus Ripple was kindly sent by Tantus Inc. in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. We received the Ripple as one of their wonderful grab bag offerings, and which always adds excitement with the element of a surprise color. As always Tantus did not disappoint.

About the Tantus Grab Bag

For those unfamiliar with the Grab bag option from Tantus Inc. let me explain further. Tantus toys are handmade from 100% platinum grade silicon in a variety of colors depending on the specific model. If color is not important to you the grab bag option allows you to order a specific toy at a much discounted cost. Although you do not get to pick the color of the toy specifically, you are left with a nearly unlimited amount of possibilities of what may arrive. Ours arrived appearing to be a solid black but upon closer inspection it is swirled with a glittery purple, quite a gorgeous toy if we do say so ourselves. The grab bag options do not come in full retail packaging, instead are shipped in an individual bag stapled shut with the Tantus logo on the front. This is a wonderful way to purchase quality toys at amazing prices.

The Details

Tantus_RippleThe Tantus Ripple is a jack off all trades, and with so it is hard to categorize. It can be used for thrusting, left in like a plug, or the nature of the bumpy shape is akin to that of anal beads. Cast in 100% Ultra Premium silicone with a glossy finish, the Tantus ripple stands at 7” in length with about 6.5” of that being usable. The first bump measures .9” in diameter with the remaining bumbs increasing in size to 1.1”, 1.35”, and 1.5” respectively. The entire toy is quite flexible, although the silicone itself is on par with the firmness of their other offerings. The Ripple does features a wide base at 2.75” diameter making this perfectly safe and suitable for anal or harness play.

Use

The toy was originally picked out due to the amazing versatility a toy of this shape has to offer. Harper is still very much a beginner/intermediate user when it comes to anal toys. The small tip and the gradual increase in size is a wonderful thing when it comes to warming up and getting used to larger sizes. Each bump creates a satisfying popping sensation as inserted and allows time to ease your way down the length gradually. Our mine gripe with the toy is that it is near impossible to utilize the last bump due to length, which hinders some of its use as a way to become accustomed to toys of larger girth which was our main selling point on the toy.

I myself prefer toys a little larger usually starting at around 1.4” such as the Purr or Cush. When using the Ripple myself the first two bumbs were hardly noticed, and by the time I reached the larger bumbs the length was not as comfortable as I would have hoped. Alas, it is a fun toy when I do not feeling like putting effort into warming up as is its small tip makes for easy insertion straight from the start.

All around we think the Tantus Ripple Large is an amazing toy that has a lot of versatility to offer. Neither of us are huge fans of length when it comes to anal play, which makes utilizing the entire toy a little difficult. But what we did utilize created a wonderful sensation and we would still highly recommend the Tantus Ripple to any anal novice looking for a unique sensation.

Cleaning Instructions

The 100% Ultra Premium Silicone used is nothing but quality. As with any silicone toy the options are plentiful when it comes to cleaning. Tantus suggests:

For a quick clean, use antibacterial soap with warm to hot water, or use a toy cleaner (one without Triclosan!).
For a more extensive clean, you can boil your toy for 2 minutes, with enough water to cover. You can also spray or rinse your product in a 10% bleach solution. Do NOT boil bleach.
To clean toys with grooves, crevices, and texture, you may put your product in the dishwasher on a regular cycle on the bottom rack.

For the most thorough cleaning, follow all three steps.
1. Wash the toy with soap & hot water to remove debris.
2. Spray or rinse the toy with a 10% bleach solution.
3. Run the toy through the dishwasher, bottom rack, detergent not necessary.

  1. I love this review! Exactly what I needed to know before going to this purchase. Very accurate about how versatile it could be and always a top priority of mine. The difference of experiences that havr tried this toy gives very helpful perspective.

  2. Nice review, wish I’d seen that before purchasing it but still quite a nice toy.
Did you ever use it for pegging?

    1. Thanks! We don’t usually use this toy for pegging. Our primary use is for “warming up” for anal. For pegging our go to toy is the Tantus purr or Cush.

  3. This is what I should have bought instead of the Ripple Small. It looks much sturdier and more filling, though the length you mention in this review might be a drawback for me too. (the small one is just shy of my ideal length, but the girth feels like a wobbly, skinny pinkie finger) At least the grab bag price was good. Thanks for writing the review!

    1. No problem! I usually tend to purchase a little larger than i usually think I should. You can always work up to it, especially on tapered or incremental toys such as the Ripple. We are expecting to review the Tantus Buck sometime soon, sort of like the Ripple on steroids, so stay tuned for that.

  4. Thanks for the review I have been eyeing this toy for a while now, but like you like to start off a little larger, maybe i will try the tantus beads instead, or maybe you should do a review on those too, that would be great!

  5. Would this be a good in-between for the Ripple Small and the Ringo? I bought both, and the Ripple Small is way too small for me, but the Ringo is just too big for now. I’m worried the Ripple Large isn’t quite big enough to get me started on the Ringo.

  6. I find that any “bead-like” dil’s with too severe graduation between bumps tend to have an undesirable after-effect, if you know what I mean. I prefer my bumps smoother like the Buck otherwise it comes too close to simulating a bowel movement. 😉

  7. Great info! I was really interested in the graduated-beads effect this might have. I’m going to check out the Tantus Buck!
